Bonita Vista a Minority in Soccer Playoffs

Bonita Vista’s boys’ soccer team, the No. 1 playoff seed and the only seeded team left in the field, plays Vista tonight in San Diego Section 3-A semifinal action at Mount Miguel High School.
Bonita Vista is 11-0-2, 16-2-3 overall. Vista (8-3-1, 16-5-4) upset No. 4-seeded Mira Mesa last week.
In the other 3-A game Wednesday night at 7:30 at Grossmont High, Valhalla (13-2-1, 16-4-1) faces Hilltop (10-2-1, 11-2-1). Hilltop is competing in 3-A for the first time after winning the 2-A title the last two seasons.
Bonita Vista’s girls’ team is also playing a 3-A playoff match tonight at Mount Miguel. At 5:30, the No. 4 seed (12-0-1, 19-3-2) plays top-seeded Grossmont (14-0-2, 17-2-3). At 5:30 Wednesday, No. 2 Serra (8-1-1, 16-4-2) plays No. 3 Poway (8-2-2, 17-4-4) at Grossmont.
Tonight’s boys’ 2-A semifinal matches Avocado League champs Ramona (8-1-3, 15-2-5) against runnerup San Marcos (7-4-1, 15-8-2). The Bulldogs are seeded second. No. 1-seeded University City plays City Western League rival La Jolla (8-2-2, 17-2-2) 7:30 Wednesday night at Mount Miguel.
In the girls’ 2-A, La Jolla (6-2-2, 9-7-2) plays No. 1-seeded San Pasqual (11-0-1, 17-3-2) today at 5:30 at Grossmont. City Western League champion University (8-0-2, 16-2-2) plays Metro-South Bay League winner Southwest (9-0-4, 16-3-6) Wednesday at 5:30 at Mount Miguel.
The 3-A finals will be played Friday at San Diego High. The girls’ game will start at 5:30, the boys’ at 7:30. The 2-A finals also will be at San Diego High with girls’ and boys’ games.
