The City Council has awarded a $1.05-million contract to JMT Diversified Inc. to build Bell’s first community center, at Treder Park on Pine Avenue.
There is $1,014,301 available for the center from federal Housing and Community Development Block Grant funds. The council on Monday also approved the transfer of $40,000 from a housing rehabilitation project to make up the difference in the cost of the 8,000-square-foot center.
