Lessons From the People of the Philippines

In the mist of all the celebration about the Duvalier and Marcos bloodless departures, we must not forget the role the United States played in keeping these tyrants in power for so long.
People outside of Europe and the United States tend to remember those who prolonged their suffering. The United States is trying to do a public relations job on the people of the world, by claiming to have talked Duvalier and Marcos into vacating their positions. The world knows, it is the people who made that decision for them.
The people of the world must now pressure the United States and her cronies to return these dictators to their respective countries to face trial for their atrocities.
