San Diego Prep Baseball : Parker Gives Granite Hills 7-6 Victory Over Grossmont

SAN DIEGO — Shortstop Todd Parker broke a 6-6 tie with a run-scoring double to give Granite Hills High School a 7-6 win over Grossmont in the first round of the Hilltop-Moose baseball tournament Tuesday at Granite Hills.
With one out in the sixth, relief pitcher Scott Weber singled. Then Parker drove in pinch-runner P.J. Mikolajewski.
Danny Nerat had two hits for the Eagles (1-0). Nerat had a three-run homer in the first and a run-scoring single. Weber got the win. Each team had seven hits.

CRAWFORD TOURNAMENT
Crawford 6, La Jolla 4--The Colts scored three runs in the seventh to earn the first-round win. Jeff LaRosa and Troy Coronado hit consecutive doubles to tie the game, 4-4. Tracy Westley’s infield hit drove in Coronado for the game-winning run, and then John Wilson, who had walked, stole home to give Crawford the 6-4 lead.
Bobby Townsend got the win, relieving Jason Cooper, who had struck out five in three innings, but gave up three runs in the third.
Spencer Maze had two singles and a double for the Vikings.
Mira Mesa 10, Morse 7--Catcher Mark Robert went 3 for 4 with three RBIs to lead the visiting Marauders in the first round. Mira Mesa first baseman Mike Eicher went 2 for 4 with three RBIs.
The Tigers’ Duane Lager was 3 for 4 with a triple and three RBIs, and teammate Ralph Portillo was 3 for 4 with two RBIs. Each team had 15 hits and three errors.
