College Softball : No. 1 Chapman Sweeps SDSU

The Chapman women’s softball team showed why it is the No. 1 among Division II teams in the West Region with a doubleheader sweep of San Diego State Tuesday at Chapman.
The Panthers were paced by pitcher Casey Tacason (7-3), who was a 6-4 winner in the first game and went 3 for 6 in the doubleheader with a home run. Diane Blankenship (6-2) held the Aztecs in check in the second game, winning 4-1.
Golden West 21, El Camino 1-The Rustlers (12-2) took a 10-0 lead after five innings and added 11 runs in the sixth inning to win easily at Golden West.
Pitcher Lisa Brady improved her record to 7-1 and lowered her earned run average to 1.22.
Catcher Gale Russell led Golden West with 3 hits, 2 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
