A fall completion is scheduled for the $30-million addition and reconstruction of the Bullock’s department store in the South Coast Plaza shopping center in Costa Mesa, according to Victor Giudici of Architects Pacific Ltd., Newport Beach, the architects.
The store will have a total of 270,000 square feet upon completion, including a 93,000-square-foot addition and a new third level. It will also have a two-level parking structure with space for 1,400 vehicles and access to the first and second levels of the store.
Giudici said that the addition will maintain the existing building materials of brick and sloping metal siding, but will add natural lighting through skylights over the entry doors and extending into the building. The builder is C. L. Peck Contractors.
