PHILADELPHIA — The pharmaceuticals industry today increased to nearly $1 million the reward offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for tampering with over-the-counter drugs.
Jack Walden of the Proprietary Assn., a trade group representing manufacturers of over-the-counter drugs, announced that the industry is adding $700,000 to the reward fund for information on whoever tampered with Contac, Teldrin and Dietac. He said the reward will be added to the $200,000 already being offered in the case of the doctored Tylenol capsules.
