Martina Navratilova, who hasn’t returned to her native Czechoslovakia since defecting in 1975, was officially named to the U.S. tennis team for the Federation Cup to be played in Prague, July 21-24.

Navratilova has been on the U.S. team since 1982, a year after she became a U.S. citizen. The Federation Cup is the women’s equivalent of the Davis Cup for men, but the matches are played in one week rather than over the period of a year.
