The new name, Pacific Financial Cos., will “more accurately encompass the full range of services and activities of our company,” said Walter B. Gerken, Pacific Mutual’s chairman. One of the nation’s largest life insurance companies, Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co. ranks 28th in assets among U.S. life insurance firms.
