UCLA, defending NCAA soccer champion, will play host for the second Metropolitan Life Classic, a four-team tournament, in November at UCLA’s North Athletic Field.
In first-round pairings Nov. 1, Cal State Los Angeles will meet Duke at noon and the Bruins will face New Mexico at 2 p.m. On Nov. 2, New Mexico and the Diablos will open at noon, and the UCLA-Duke match will start at 2 p.m.
UCLA won last year’s tournament, defeating Pac-10 Conference foes California and Stanford. Bruin Paul Caligiuri, who will return for his senior year in the fall, was named the tourney’s most valuable defensive player.
