Burroughs is considering selling a Sperry unit.

The computer manufacturer said it is hiring investment bankers to advise it on the possible sale of Sperry’s aerospace and marine group. A decision on whether to sell the Phoenix-based unit, which makes high-tech equipment for planes and ships, “would depend in part on buyer interest and valuation of the properties,” Burroughs said. Analysts said the unit could bring in about $800 million.
