Erskine Caldwell Being Treated for Lung Cancer

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Erskine Caldwell, author of “Tobacco Road” and “God’s Little Acre,” is undergoing treatment for lung cancer, a hospital spokeswoman said Friday.
“He has lung cancer. This is his third incidence of cancer,” said Vickie Austin, manager of communications of Scottsdale Memorial Hospital. She said Caldwell, 83, will undergo chemotherapy treatment after being released.
