Bolsa Grande used a strong running game and some big plays from its reserve players for a 43-8 victory over Buena Park Friday night at Bolsa Grande.
“The best thing about this game was that we used every kid in the game,” Bolsa Coach Greg Shadid said.
The Matadors (2-0) blew the game open in the third quarter when reserve running backs Ricky Lepule and Paul Howell each scored on 37-yard runs, giving Bolsa a 31-0 lead.
Travin Lui led all rushers with 111 of Bolsa’s 325 yards, while the Matador defense held the Coyotes (0-1-1) to 24 total yards in the first half.
