San Diego Volleyball : SDSU Sets Mark for Consecutive Victories at 15

San Diego State’s women’s volleyball team set a school record for consecutive victories with 15 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Titan Fullerton Classic Volleyball Tournament with three wins Friday at Fullerton.
The Aztecs, ranked No. 1 in the latest NCAA poll, defeated Loyola Marymount, 15-8, 15-11, Eastern Washington 15-2, 15-1, and Fresno State, 15-5, 11-15, 15-7, to advance to today’s quarterfinals.
San Diego State, which set a school-record of 13 consecutive wins in 1982, is now 15-0 on the season.
UC San Diego won four matches to reach the semifinals of the La Verne Invitational tournament at La Verne College. UCSD (14-1) defeated Hawaii-Pacific and Claremont-Scripps in straight games, 2-0, and beat Cal State Bakersfield and Cal State Dominguez Hills, 2-1. The Tritons will meet UC Riverside in today’s semifinals. The other semifinal will match Cal State Los Angeles against Cal State Northridge.
