Grossmont Takes On Saddleback in Mission Conference Opener Saturday

Grossmont College’s football team will get a taste of the Mission Conference Saturday night. The Griffins travel to Saddleback in Mission Viejo to play the co-national champion Gauchos at 7:30 p.m.
Saddleback, which uses a no-huddle offense, has won 48 consecutive home games, the last 34 at Saddleback College.
Palomar compiled 528 yards in total offense in the Comets’ 57-0 victory over Rio Hondo. Sophomore quarterback Jonathan Mitchell was 21 for 34 for 252 yards and 4 touchdowns in less than two quarters of play.
