Fire erupted at the Arco refinery in Carson when a small-diameter line apparently ruptured in one of three crude oil processing units. A company spokesman said the cause was not known. No injuries were reported and there was no explosion. Damage was said to be minor. Ten Los Angeles County Fire Department engine companies were dispatched to the refinery at 1801 Sepulveda Blvd. where the flames were brought under control when the line was shut off.
