Libyan leader Moammar Kadafi, warning of “new aggression,” urged Libyans to turn the nation “into a fortress.” Kadafi spoke on the 16th anniversary of the expulsion of the Italian community, the country’s former colonial rulers. Warning of “new colonialist ambitions,” Kadafi said, “We must not allow America, Italy or any other power to have a foothold on Libyan shores.”
