Alpha Micro Buys Assets of 2 Australian Firms

Alpha Microsystems said it purchased the assets of two related Australian companies for an undisclosed amount of cash.
The Santa Ana-based computer maker said it purchased Jewelsea Pty. Ltd. of Sydney and Fasuma Pty. Ltd. of Brisbane. Both companies sell computer equipment.
Alpha Micro said the two concerns will operate as Alpha Micro Australia Ltd. David Cannon, general manager of the two companies, will be general manager of the combined unit.
For the six months ended Aug. 24, Alpha Micro reported a net loss of $555,000 on revenue of $22.9 million, compared with a net loss of $1.4 million on revenue of $24.7 million for the same period last year.
