West Covina : Curbs on Car Promotions

Promotional events by car dealerships will be allowed only 30 days a year under a city code amendment passed by the West Covina City Council. The dealers also will be required to obtain temporary use permits from the Planning Department, which will allow officials to review site layout, signs and planned procedures before the event, and keep count of the number of days the dealers use for promotions. City officials recommended the action because some dealerships were violating the city’s sign ordinance when promoting events such as special sales.
