The nation’s highest-ranking Latino FBI agent filed a $5-million civil rights suit, charging the agency with discriminating against Latinos. Attorney Jose Silva, representing Agent Bernardo (Matt) Perez, 47, said Latino agents are assigned to the most dangerous outposts and confined to areas where Latinos dominate the population. Silva said Latino agents are transferred more often than other agents and are not promoted into positions of responsibility.
