Oakbrook, Ill.-based McDonald’s Corp., the world’s largest fast-food chain, posted a fourth-quarter profit $10 million higher than the same period a year ago and a $480-million increase in revenue for the 1986 year. The firm said it will expand at a “steady pace” in 1987, adding another 500 restaurants to the 9,401 it currently owns or franchises worldwide. New menu product introductions, including three varieties of biscuits, the Sausage McMuffin with Egg and the McD.L.T. sandwich, contributed to its success.
