A tentative pact has been approved in the protracted dispute over the estate of modern artist Georgia O’Keeffe, who died last March in New Mexico. Plans now call for most of her art estate--valued at between $40 million and $65 million--to be distributed to museums and other nonprofit institutions. O’Keeffe relatives had challenged her 1979 will, saying that her executor and long-time companion, Juan Hamilton, had unduly influenced the elderly artist in order to keep a large portion of the estate for himself.
