Burglar’s Efforts Awry at Arizona Governor’s Home

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Someone apparently tried to break into the home of Gov. Evan Mecham early Tuesday, by cutting power and telephone lines and cutting a hole in a ceiling, police said, but the house was not entered and no suspect was identified. Mecham was not home at the time.
