Federal prosecutors are investigating the dealings of two members of Congress, a former congressman and a New York City politician on behalf of a military contractor, authorities said. Two of the officials, Rep. Robert Garcia of New York and Bronx Borough President Stanley Simon, confirmed the investigation and said they had acted properly in all contacts with Wedtech Corp. Rep. Mario Biaggi of New York and former Rep. Parren Mitchell of Maryland also denied any wrongdoing. A source close to the matter identified the four Democrats as subjects of a lengthy federal-state investigation of Wedtech, a former $100-million-a-year contractor that for months has been at the center of allegations of impropriety.
