Bill Shoemaker, the winningest jockey in thoroughbred racing history, underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee at Centinela Hospital Medical Center.
Shoemaker’s physician, Dr. Robert Kerlan, said the veteran jockey will begin a rehabilitation program aimed at having him back riding in the next few weeks.
