Just as Washingtonians have not learned to enjoy a good storm, Los Angeles’ simple TV weathermen have not. Every time the temperature drops below 75 degrees in Los Angeles and a cloud dares to cross the sky, weathermen moan and anchor persons agree.
I think they prefer smog to any natural act of weather. How wonderful to be showered with rain, to be washed of smog for a few days, to build a fire and listen and read.
Weather is a gift, as Bill Stall says in his article (Editorial Pages, Jan. 27), “Grim Washingtonians Miss a Great Storm.” Sunny days are beautiful, but rain and clouds are also part of the plan. And anything is preferable to smog--even hail. I pray for rain in my native Los Angeles.
Thank you, Bill Stall, for honoring and appreciating nature instead of fearing it and complaining about it. Remember nature?
