New York’s Lone Star Cafe--Texas’ official Manhattan embassy--celebrated its 10th birthday this week. The Lone Star has hosted some dramatic musical events, such as the revival of soul star James Brown’s career and the birth of the Blues Brothers, with the late John Belushi’s penchant for jumping on stage and joining in with some of his favorites at the club. The Greenwich Village watering hole’s authentic Texas ambiance inspired the Texas state legislature to declare it Texas’ official embassy in the Empire State.
