The Merce Cunningham Dance Company opened its season at New York’s City Center Tuesday night with one of the three new dances and two revivals. The new piece performed was “Fabrications,” which had its first showing Feb. 21 in Minneapolis. After the New York season, the Cunningham company goes on a national tour that will include Los Angeles (April 10-12 at UCLA), Santa Barbara, San Diego and Berkeley.
