Anaheim : Man Found Hanged at Freeway Still Unknown

A man found hanged from a tree in a freeway landscape area last December still remains unidentified, despite a nationwide check of records, the coroner’s office said Wednesday.
“We’ve done fingerprint checks nationwide and a dental records check of missing persons statewide, and everything’s negative so far,” said Supervising Deputy Coroner Rick Plows. “Sometimes, some of these people remain John Does forever.”
The man, 25 to 35 years old, apparently hanged himself from a tree beside the Santa Ana Freeway at Harbor Boulevard. His body was screened from the freeway but was noticed by someone walking on the Harbor Boulevard overpass about a day later, Plows said.
The Latino man was 5 feet, 7 inches tall and 136 pounds, with black, curly hair parted on the right and hazel eyes. He was wearing a tan striped shirt, dark-brown jeans and red-and-white tennis shoes.
“He had no identification,” Plows said. “A lot of the time we have to depend on someone who knows the guy to identify him.”
Plows asked anyone who might know the man to telephone the coroner’s office at (714) 834-2902.
