Eliseo Moreno, 27, convicted of killing six people including a state trooper during a 50-hour rampage, was executed in Huntsville, Tex., after he rejected all appeals on his behalf. “He was not afraid,” said Atty. Gen. Jim Mattox, who witnessed Moreno’s death by injection. “When he came in (to the death chamber) he jumped up on the table with a smile and said he was ready for the rocket to take off so he could finally go home--and he did.”
