A Southwest Los Angeles man has been charged with the shooting death of an RTD bus driver fired last year after having been charged with being on drugs at the time of a two-bus collision. Charles Robert Turner, 52, a liquor store clerk, was charged with murdering his live-in girlfriend, Vivian Lee Harris, 38, in their apartment last month. Harris’ three children, ages 2, 5, and 8, were locked in the apartment for 16 hours before one of the children found her keys under her body and unlocked the door. Harris was fired last year after it was determined that she was driving under the influence of cocaine at the time of a May accident in downtown Los Angeles in which 23 people were injured.
