Compton College Plays San Joaquin Delta in Quarterfinals Tonight

Compton College will try for its second upset in two games tonight at 7 when the Tartars play Stockton San Joaquin Delta in a quarterfinal game of the State Community College men’s basketball tournament at Loyola Marymount.
Compton (25-6) upset the Southern Division’s top-seeded team, Cerritos, in overtime Saturday, 81-75. Delta (28-2) is the top-ranked team in the state.
The semifinals are set for Friday at 6 and 8 p.m., with the final at 8 p.m. Saturday.
In the other lower bracket game, Ventura (28-4) will play Columbia (26-8) at 3 p.m.
In the upper bracket, Mission Viejo Saddleback (25-7) will play San Bruno Skyline (28-3) at 5 p.m., and Santa Ana Rancho Santiago (28-4) will play Merced (26-8) at 9.
