Local News in Brief : Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Dump Truck

Amotorcyclist who died after colliding with a dump truck in Topanga Canyon on Friday was identified Saturday by a Los Angeles County coroner’s official.
William Kochaniuk, 25, of Redondo Beach died at Northridge Hospital Medical Center at 8:20 p.m. Friday, coroner’s investigator Edward Murrell said.
Kochaniuk lost control of his motorcycle about 11 a.m. Friday while rounding a curve on Topanga Canyon Boulevard at high speed, California Highway Patrol Officer Diane Lowery said. He crossed the center line and collided head-on with the truck, she said.
