A black El Paso, Tex., radio announcer says he will not stop airing his views on civil rights, despite the hanging of a hog’s head and the painting of satanic-type symbols at his home last week. Michael Brown, a child psychologist and the host of a black public affairs radio program at the University of Texas at El Paso, said he believes Wednesday’s attack on his home is part of a pattern of harassment against him for his five-year-old weekly program, which airs on KTEP-FM and focuses on human and civil rights issues. In addition to the hog’s head, the vandals used a child’s jump rope to hang an inflated “sex doll” from the porch light, he said. Lt. Danny Vessells of the El Paso police said vandalism with the trappings of satanic worship are rare in the area. The attack against Brown “looked like a threat but could have been a prank,” he said.
