Local News in Brief : Motorcyclist Dies After Hitting Parked Car

A/motorcyclist was fatally injured Monday afternoon when he collided with a parked car in Studio City, police said.
Philip Brown, 32, of Bell Gardens died while in surgery for head and internal injuries at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Los Angeles police Lt. Alan Kerstein said.
Witnesses said Brown was driving next to another motorcyclist at about 55 to 60 m.p.h. on Ventura Boulevard at Arch Drive when both men failed to negotiate a curve at about 2 p.m., continuing straight into two parked cars, Kerstein said.
The other motorcyclist suffered cuts and bruises, he said.
