A 2-year-old girl was killed and a 3-year-old and 4-year-old critically injured Saturday morning by a hit-and-run driver near the USC campus in Los Angeles.
The three sisters, whose names were withheld by authorities, were walking in the crosswalk with their mother at 8:15 a.m. at Hoover and 32nd streets when they were hit by an older-model, yellow pickup truck, Police Officer Milt O’Dell said. The mother was not injured.
The 2-year-old was pronounced dead at California Hospital. The other two girls underwent surgery Saturday afternoon at County-USC Medical Center. No arrests were made but police said the investigation was continuing.
