I was delighted to read that the Lawrence clan of “Family” will be reunited for a TV movie next season. James Broderick’s death, the July 12 Update item reported, will be dealt with by having the mother (Sada Thompson) portrayed as a widow. Since no mention was made of Quinn Cummings, whose character was such a delightful addition to the series, I am sincerely hoping they aren’t planning some terrible early demise for her role.
