A 36-year-old newspaper deliveryman was charged Wednesday with 42 felony counts for allegedly sexually molesting eight young boys who worked with him.
Joseph Taylor, a Willowbrook area resident, is scheduled to be arraigned today in South Bay Municipal Court.
The district attorney’s office charges that Taylor molested the boys, who are currently 9 to 17 years old, during the last five years at a Los Angeles Times distribution facility in Torrance. According to the employee relations department of The Times, Taylor is not a Times employee but did work for an independent contractor who delivered the newspaper.
Taylor also faces a probation violation hearing Aug. 25 stemming from his conviction in November, 1982, for sodomizing a young boy who, the district attorney’s office charges, Taylor recruited to assist him with his delivery duties. In that case, Taylor received an eight-year suspended prison sentence and was placed on probation for five years.
Taylor has been held without bail since his arrest July 25 after the parents of an alleged victim notified police, authorities said.
