Orange County sheriff’s divers pulled the body of a 47-year-old Irvine man, Hallegere Narasinha Murthy, from the wreckage of a small plane that crashed into the ocean off the Balboa Pier on Friday night. The plane, which belonged to a Fullerton Airport flying club, was found in 45-foot deep water 200 yards off the pier at 10:15 a.m., about 14 hours after witnesses saw a plane hit the ocean. Murthy had taken off from John Wayne Airport on a solo excursion flight, sheriff’s deputies said.
