Memories of Jesse Unruh, a Man of Power

An ode to Unruh:
Goodby country boy. I loved you for what you tried to accomplish in your lifetime and for your warmth and acceptance of people no matter what their socio-economic level. You were an uncomplicated, intelligent man that loved country music, Trojan football and the working class. Thanks for being a friend to education and the underprivileged.
There will be stories written about you, for you made colorful California history. You fought for social reforms, legislative and fiscal changes and played the political arena like a pro. I shall remember your good jokes, clear predictions, love for family and friends and lust for life. You warmed my heart and I shall miss you.
