Critics work in mysterious ways.
Take Rex Reed, please. He sure reaches for superlatives in his “At the Movies” show. For his review of “No Way Out,” he dubbed Hackman “wonderful,” Costner “terrific” and Will Patton “great.”
Then he voted “no” for the pic.
His reason: “Movies that can’t be explained aren’t worth talking about.”
