Topless Tower?

I read David Myers’ article regarding the new library tower (June 21), and find myself very impressed by its design. Congratulations to architects Cobb and Fredenburgh.
However, I have one question: Doesn’t the building need a spire? Unless a heliport is planned for the top, I should think a spire would be appropriate. It’s OK to “show off” a little . . . after all, this is Hollywood!
