12 Hurt in School Bus Crash

Nine children and three adults suffered minor injuries today when a school bus collided with a city Transportation Department car on the San Diego Freeway about 9:20 a.m., officials said. The children, a woman riding in the bus and two men in the car were taken to local hospitals, city Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said.
The bus, carrying 60 children in a group from the Inglewood YMCA on an outing to Magic Mountain, and the car collided on the northbound freeway near La Tijera Boulevard, the California Highway Patrol said. Crews were working to clear diesel fuel after the crash, and two lanes of the freeway were closed.
