A former Air Force sergeant who passed secret information to an FBI agent he thought was a Soviet spy was sentenced to five years in prison by a San Francisco federal judge who noted it was “not a major spy case” and that 33-year-old Allen John Davies of San Jose had not endangered American lives. Davies admitted passing information that included details about an intelligence-gathering program on which he worked in West Germany during 1983 and 1984.
