He Has a Problem With the FBI Now!

BAKERSFIELD — Osvaldo Ramon Fernandez told police he had a problem with the FBI.
But no one is really sure why he rammed his older-model pickup through the downtown Bakersfield Federal Building Thursday night.
A Bakersfield FBI official, who didn’t want his name used, said agents “never had contact with him, until today.”
As employees arrived for work Friday, they saw green shards of glass and thick skid marks on the building’s marble-floored lobby.
By judging skid marks on the sidewalk and in the lobby, the FBI official said Fernandez had crashed through the glass-and-aluminum-framed wall on the south end of the building, accelerated midway through the lobby and tried to crash through the other side.
“He tried to go straight through, but he blew out all the tires,” the official said.
Bakersfield police found Fernandez hiding on the second floor, near the FBI offices, and booked the 32-year-old resident of the city of Taft for investigation of felony malicious mischief, said Sgt. Irma Carson. The man reportedly was not hurt in the incident.
“Basically we have an individual who says he has some type of a problem with the FBI, and he ran through the Federal Building,” Carson said.
The FBI official said damage to the building is estimated at $25,000.
