Three Orange County executives recently received awards from the Mexican and American Foundation Inc., a nonprofit organization that promotes a strong Mexican-American relationship.
J. Robert Fluor II, vice president of corporate relations for Fluor Corp., was given the Caballero de Distinction Award. He is one of the chairmen for Evening with the Stars, the foundation’s main fund-raising and social event.
Larry Cano, president and founder of El Torito Restaurants Inc., received the Amigo de Alta California Award for presenting a positive role model to the Hispanic community.
Mervyn Phelan, chairman and chief executive officer of First California Savings Bank, is the recipient of the Amigo de Baja California Award. The bank recently made a $10,000 donation to Project Concern in Tijuana.
