Cal State Fullerton’s freshman outside hitter, Keri Pier, was named the PCAA Volleyball Player of the Week for her play last weekend at the Hofstra Volleyball Tournament in Hempstead, N.Y.
The 5-foot 7-inch hitter was named the tournament MVP after she tallied 48 kills with a .324 hitting percentage. She also added 47 digs and seven service aces.
The Titans won the Hofstra Tournament championship by sweeping Georgetown, Hofstra, Providence and Syracuse. Fullerton will host the Titan-Mizuno Collegiate Volleyball Preview this weekend.
UC Santa Barbara, which is ranked 14th in the American Volleyball Coaches Assn. poll, and 15th-ranked Cal State Long Beach will be two of the 16 teams playing in the tournament.
