Cal State Fullerton will attempt to win its fourth straight football game when the Titans play Fresno State in a Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. game at Fresno’s Bulldog Stadium tonight at 6.
Fullerton, 5-4 overall and 4-1 in the PCAA, trails defending champion San Jose State by one game with two remaining. Fresno State (4-4, 2-2) is in a three-way tie for third place.
Fresno State’s Dave Telford, a walk-on who was the Bulldogs’ third-string quarterback in September, took over as the starter in the fourth game and has passed for more than 200 yards in each of the last five games. He threw for 536 yards in a 23-22 loss to Pacific two weeks ago.
Fullerton running back Eric Franklin, who is averaging 73 yards a game, rushed for a career-high 136 yards last Saturday in a 48-14 victory over New Mexico State.
