Regarding “Women Who Love Being Single,” by Shere Hite (Oct. 18): It is possible to have the independence and the freedom a single woman enjoys plus the security and the companionship a married woman possesses. I’m married to a man who accepts and encourages all of this. I tend to believe there are many others like him.
