Free-agent reliever Juan Berenguer says if the Minnesota Twins don’t pay him $800,000, he’ll play baseball in Japan.
“I’m going to give the first chance to Minnesota,” Berenguer told the St. Paul Pioneer Press Dispatch. “If they refuse, then we’ll see somebody else.”
The hard-throwing Panamanian said he has been offered $5 million in American money to play the next three years in Japan.
